Payroll can be run on Quickbooks 2012 if you pay the payroll licence fee to unlock the payroll facility. At the present only until June 2012 you can still run payroll on Quickbooks 2010 but after that the program will not run properly and you must upgrade to 2012.
On the 5th April 2012 the Tax Year ends and therefore the end of year PAYE Returns must be completed, these can be handled within Quickbooks and the P60s printed and given to staff. These are available free from HMRC from their order line. There is no need to buy them from Intuit or other stationers the HMRC Free ones work fine. The P14s and P35s are no longer printed and must be submitted online through the payroll program. Quickbooks handles this well through the end of year routine. P11Ds must also be completed if appropriate - Quickbooks does not handle this. If you need any assistance with your end of year PAYE Returns or Payroll generally. We can assist. The Mobile Accountant
