A visit to a large Dental practice in Hertfordshire to advise and train on the best way to set up Quickbooks 2012 and link in with Barclays Bank in order to download bank statement information directly into Quickbooks. Even though the option on Barclays says Clearly Business/Quickbooks 2005 - this is the correct option and does work with Quickbooks 2012.
I'm still not sure whether this facility saves any time, as if the names on the bank statements dont match with the names on Quickbooks then you have to "teach" Quickbooks where the entries go. If you deal with the same customers and suppliers month in, month out - it should save you time once set up for the first time . If your Customers and Suppliers are more transient then probably easier just to enter them manually directly into Quickbooks. Incidentally Barclays Bank is the only UK Bank that works with Quickbooks, despite Quickbooks program and help and web site saying HSBC Bank works with Online Banking within Quickbooks. IT DOES NOT. Neither does Lloyds Bank, Nat West, or RBS or any other UK Bank. Only Barclays works for Online banking with Quickbooks. Come on Intuit... thats a rubbish state of affairs isnt it!
