How to close Period Ends Quickbooks
How do you close the books (period end) in Quickbooks
Quickbooks does not have a period end in the same sense as a package like Sage. Instead it simply locks the data up to a given point. To do this. Go to the settings cog > Accounts and settings

Closing Date turn option on
Next go to Advanced > and Accounting and turn the option from off to on.
Closing Date and Password
Then simply type in the password that you wish to close the period up to, ( Lock data), you can at this stage if you wish enter a password
Thats it done. If you wish to enter data prior to the closing date, Quickbooks will remind you that the data is closed you can then override at this point if you still wish to, or if a password has been attached to the closing date you will need the password to proceed.
